The new car is based on front wheel drive platform and a fairly compact: length is only 3.99 meters, a size wheelbase - 2,46 meters, suspension - traditional McPherson front and independent rear.

But the most interesting part in Audi A1 concept is hybrid power plant. It uses 1.4-liter gasoline engine with a turbocharge TFSI, delivering 150 horsepower along with 27 horsepower electric motor - two motors can work simultaneously or independently. The total torque is 390 Nm.

From 0 to 100 km / h Audi hatchback accelerates in 7.9 seconds, and its maximum speed reaches 200 km / h. Hybrid power plant Audi A1 consumes 3.9 liters per 100 kilometers in combined cycle. In addition, Audi A1 can drive up to 100 kilometers using electric motor only, powered from a set of lithium-ion batteries. You can recharge batteries at home from the regular outlet, or on the road, accumulating energy during braking.

Another A1 Sportback Concept innovation, based on borrowed from the current generation A4, the Drive Select system, which has two algorithms - efficient (for fuel economy) and sports, which adjust not only hybrid power plant settings, but also electronically-controlled shock absorbers stiffness, steering sensitivity and so on.

Finally, Audi A1 has advanced multimedia system, capable of working with mobile phones of different manufacturers and use them as a repository of music and contacts, as well as a navigation system or as alarm, displaying alarm status on cell screen.

A1 Sportback Concept design draws from current generation A3 Sportback, but is a bit more aggressive, and edgy. The most unusual in its appearance are doors without a frame and two sections rear door window.
