The official presentation of the new Mazda3 hatchback will be held on December 3, this year at the Bologna Motor Show in Italy. But the first official photographs of the model appeared today.

New Mazda3 5-Door hatchback front design is no different than the one shown recently in Los Angeles next-generation Mazda3 sedan. According to Mazda, under-the-skin changes include "more efficient power trains, Mazda-typical weight saving engineering solutions and fine tuned 'best in class' aerodynamics."

In the North American market, the Mazda3 hatchback comes with the same 2.0- and 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engines and European buyers will have a choice of the existing 1.6- and 2.0-litre petrol engines and the 1.6-litre turbo diesel.

New Toyota Auris 1.33-Liter Dual VVT-i Petrol Engine

Toyota Auris is now equipped with new power plant. Toyota is enhancing its Auris line-up with the introduction of a completely new engine - 1NR-FE 1.33-liter 4-cylinder petrol engine with Dual VVT-i technology. This engine environmentally better, has smaller fuel consumption and gives more power and torque, compared to previous 1.4-liter gasoline engine.

Toyota Auris with 1.33-liter engine will be first model in Europe to benefit from a Stop & Start system.

The new 4-cylinder engine by 54 mm shorter and 127 mm narrower than the 1.4-liter unit, and weigh 13 kg less. This means that the new engine is approximately the same size as a 3-cylinder, 1.0-liter gasoline engine VVT, produced by Toyota. The 1.33-liter Dual VVT-i delivers 101 hp, maximum torque of 132 Nm (the 1.4-liter engine had the following characteristics: 97 hp and 130 Nm). Transmission for the power plant also new - 6-speed manual, which replaces 5-speed.

In combined cycle Toyota Auris 1.33 Dual VVT-i consumes 5.8 liters per 100 kilometers.

2010 Nissan Cube Official Pics And Details

Nissan has released initial details and pics of the 2010 Nissan Cube for Japanese domestic market model and the U.S.-spec version which will make its debut at the 2008 Los Angeles Auto Show tomorrow, 19 November.

Car exterior retains the characteristic "cubic" and somewhat "toyish" styling as well as the asymmetric rear end of its predecessors.

The Japanese market will have the Cube with 107 hp 1.5-liter gasoline engine. U.S. version will come with more powerful 120 hp 1.8-liter engine. Europeans will get a choice of two units - 1.6-liter gasoline and 1.5-liter diesel engine. Transmission details will be known later, but as with the previous generation models, the new Cube will be offered in both front- and four-wheel drive versions

Japanese dealers will get Cube at the end of this month, Americans - coming spring, and the Europeans - this fall. In Japan, the price of Cube start from $14,900.

New Fiat Panda 4x4 Glam Edition Pics

Italian Fiat unveiled special version of the Panda 4x4 - Glam Edition, exclusively for the domestic market. Panda 4x4 Glam Edition received new "white pearl" exterior color, aluminum roof rails and special design 15-inch discs. Interior finished with new materials.

Under the hood Glam Edition comes with the same engine as a standard Fiat Panda: 60 hp 1.2 liters petrol unit and 70 hp 1.3-liter turbo charged diesel engine, with prices in Italy set at €14,800 and €16,910 respectively.

SEAT Leon Linea R Pics

Spanish SEAT presented a sporty version of Leon hatchback, known as Linea R. According to the press release, company intended to celebrate new successes in the WTCC sports series with introduction of the model. Linea R got new radiator grille, wide rear bumper with integrated dual chrome exhaust pipes, metal decorated rear-view mirrors, as well as massive disc brakes on 5-spoke alloy 225/40 R18 wheels.

Note that this is the fourth generation Honda Life, created with the maximum functionality, usability, convenience and environmental friendliness. Major difference from previous models is the availability of audio system and rear-camera in a base edition.

Minicar equipped with the economical 3-cylinder 0.66 liters i-DSI petrol engine with atmospheric intake, and turbo. Engine paired with an automatic 4-speed transmission. Besides the traditional front-drive it will be available with all wheel drive. Fuel consumption for front wheel drive without a turbo version is 4.76 liters per 100 km.

Hyundai i40 - Successor to Hyundai Sonata details emerge

According to British magazine Autocar, citing the statement of its own sources inside the South Korean automakers - within two years, Korean Hyundai will begin selling i40, which will replace the Sonata model.

Hyundai i40 will be build on an all-new platform with design based on Genus concept shown in 2006 in Geneva. I40 will be offered with a 1.6 - and 2.0-liter gasoline engines, as well as turbo diesel.

Hyundai i40 will initially be launched in wagon version, with a sedan following in 2011. According to the source, the Sonata successor will be more stylish and "and won’t be a car that people buy purely for value."
